Let your students join actress and singer Sally G. Ramirez, and professional guitarist
Doug Robinson, on a multicultural journey through music in different languages. Singing songs from various cultures, in French, Spanish, Portuguese, and English, Sally gives students an appreciation for the musical styles and values of different cultures. A classically trained vocalist with a stunning stage presence, Sally is able to impart the joy of musical celebration to young people, while she educates them about the different composers, and the cultural values which inspired their work. Doug Robinson has had a 30 year, diverse career of touring and session work as a vocalist, bassist, guitarist and producer, with many world-music, folk, country, pop, jazz and blues artists. His recent projects include extensive touring and recording with British guitar legend Martin Simpson, a multi-year stint as a staff musician at the famous "Festival D'Eté" World Music festival in Québec City, Canada, European tours with latin bluesman Tino Gonzales, festival performances with Charmaine Neville and European gypsy-swing masters Stochelo Rosenberg and Romane, recordings and performances with Rounder recording artists The Burns Sisters Band, and a Carnegie Hall appearance with Jazz trumpeter Johnny Russo and his East Hill Classic Jazz Group. The assembly program features music by Antonio Carlo Jobim , Edith Piaf, Rafael Hernandez, Antonio Caban Vale, Meredith Wilson, and others. |

in the assembly for older students, but with a difference -- Sally involves
the children with the music through movement, puppetry, and rhythm instruments the children can play. (Please note that for preschools Sally performs alone, without
